CARE & MAINTENANCE OF
REFINISHED SURFACES
Following
the
guidelines
listed
below,
you
will
be
assured
many
years
of
trouble-free
service
from
your
surface
refinishing.
Please
DO
NOT
USE
the
new
surface
for
a
minimum
of
24
hours
(at
room
temperature).
Although
the
refinished
surface
can
be
put
back
into
full
use
after
this
time,
the
surface
will
actually
require
up
to
90
days
to
completely
cure.
Please
observe the following:
INITIAL CARE OF YOUR
REFINISHED SURFACE
1.
During
the
refinishing
process,
special
masking
tape
was
used
to
protect
other
surfaces
during
the
spraying,
drying
and
curing
times,
but
which
can
be
easily
removed
by
you.
Remove
this
masking
after
the
initial
24
hour
downtime,
but
within
4
days
after
the
refinishing.
Care
should
be
taken
when
removing
the
masking
from
the
wallpaper
or
painted
surfaces,
so
remove
the
masking
slowly
and
carefully.
We
recommend
scoring
the
tape
along
the
tub
edge
with
a
razor
blade
to
ensure
that
it
does
not
stick
to
the
newly
refinished
surface.
2.
When
removing
the
masking
from
around
the
drain
area,
be
careful
not
to
break
the
seal
around
the
drain
shoe.
Any
glaze
which
is
left
on
the
surface
of
the
drain
shoe
can
be
carefully
removed
with
a
razor
blade
or
knife.
It
is
also
recommended
that
you
apply
a
thin
layer
of
clear
caulking
right
around
the
drain
flange
where
there
is
a
little
gap
between
the
metal
tub
and
the
drain.
This
is
to
prevent
water
from
pooling
in
that
gap
that
could
potentially
cause
peeling.
3.
Clean
the
new
finish
regularly
with
soap
and
a
soft
sponge
(this
is
called
surface
conditioning).
PLEASE
NOTE:
All
newly
refinished
surfaces
will
have
some
surface
dust
which
will
have
settled
into
the
new
surface
as
the
coating
dries.
Do
not
be
alarmed
if
you
see
minute
particles
in
the
new
surface
or
if
it
feels
somewhat
rough
to
the
touch.
Because
the
surface
is
still
within
its
long-term
cure
period,
normal
use
and
regular
cleaning
will
remove
all
minor
surface
dust
marks.
DO
NOT
pick
at
dust
specks
or
hair
as
this
could
cause
peeling.
Instead
inform
the
technician
who
performed
the
service
for
their
advice
or
assistance.
4. DO NOT lay soap, bottles, or any other
objects on the finished surface for the first 4
months.
5.
Be
sure
that
your
faucets
and
taps
are
dry
and
not
dripping
after
using
the
fixture,
and
be
sure
to
towel
dry
the
refinished
surface
after
each
use.
The
surface
does
not
need
to
be
completely
dry,
just
be
sure
there
is
no
water
left
standing
on
any
areas
of
the
new surface.
6. DO NOT apply masking tape or any
other adhesive products to the tub surface
at any time.
CLEANING
DO
NOT
use
Soft
Scrub,
bleach,
Comet,
Ajax,
degreasers,
or
any
other
abrasive
or
acidic
cleaners
on
the
new
surface
at
any
time.
We
recommend
cleaning
with
Dawn
dish
soap
mixed
water
in
a
spray
bottle.
Simply
spray
on
the
cleaning
solution,
let
set
for
2-3
minutes
and
then
wipe
off
with
a
wet
wash
cloth.
If
you
prefer
to
use
store
bought
products
you
can
use
Simple
Green,
Lysol
cleaner,
liquid
dish
soap,
baby
shampoo
or
Gel
Gloss.
But
you
must
check
the
bottles
to
be
sure
they
are
approved
for
use
on
acrylic
surfaces,
as
some
products
may
come
in
multiple formulas.
LONG TERM CARE OF YOUR
REFINISHED SURFACE
1.
DO
NOT
use
any
abrasive
scrubbing
pads
such
as
Scotchbrite
or
any
similar
scrubbing
pad,
as
this
will
scratch
the
new
surface.
Stay
away
from
acid
and
bleaching
cleaners.
Use
of
these
products
will
void
the
guarantee.
2.
DO
NOT
drop
sharp
or
heavy
objects
on
the
finish,
as
this
may
cause
it
to
chip.
Please
contact
us
if
this
should
occur.
There
will
be
a
nominal
fee
for
the
chip
repairs.
Failure
to
contact
us
in
a
timely
manner
will
void
the
guarantee.
3.
DO
NOT
bathe
pets
in
the
tub
unless
you
put
down
a
towel
for
them
to
stand
on.
Their
claws
may
be
sharp
enough
to
scratch
or
peel the coat.
4.
Faucets
must
be
properly
maintained
by
the
owner
and
user
to
protect
the
new
surface.
Leaky
faucets
will
erode
the
new
finish,
causing
it
to
crack
and
wear
out
prematurely and voiding the guarantee.
5.
Destruction
of
the
finish
may
occur
through
improper
use
of
acid
bearing
compounds,
such
as
drain
openers,
bleach
products
or
tile
grout
cleaners.
All
unapproved
chemicals
must
be
kept
away
from
the
finish.
These
chemicals
include,
but
are
not
limited
to,
cosmetics,
hair
dyes
and
perfumes,
which
may
stain
or
otherwise
mar the finish. Use of these chemicals would
be
considered
neglect
and
void
the
guarantee.
6.
DO
NOT
use
a
rubber
bath
mat
or
any
other
sort
of
item
with
suction
cups
on
the
refinished
surface.
Most
mats
will
cause
irreparable
damage
to
the
new
surface
when
used
on
the
tub
and
will
void
the
warranty.
7.
Remember,
if
you
treat
your
new
surface
with
respect,
clean
it
regularly
and
follow
the
above
guidelines,
your
fixture
will
stay
shiny
and
bright
and
give
you
many
years
of
trouble free service.
