In most cases, shower bases can be resurfaced independently of the walls. This can be helpful when you have a shower wall material like natural stone that cannot be coated, but a base that can. Or it could be that the pan looks fine but you cannot stand the walls any longer. The only time that we have to refinish both the pan and the walls, is when it is a fiberglass one piece unit.

They are another type that is very custom. These showers are almost exclusively original to the home. In many cases, the cultured marble wall panels extend outside of the shower enclosure and into the bathtub area. It is also common to see color matched cultured marble counters in the same room. When new, cultured marble is easy to keep clean and maintain, but as it ages, it can become quite a pain. But don’t fret. These have possibly the widest range of sizes and shapes out of any material. It is also common to have bases and walls made out of different materials, so you could have a fiberglass pan with tile walls above. Or we have even seen a tile shower pan with cultured marble walls. Some units also include tile on the ceiling. Whatever the size, style and shape of shower that you have, we have a solution for you. Unfortunately if you have natural stone tile, then we usually do not recommend recoating it. Though we could still steer you in the right direction if you are needing to update it.

These come in two basic types. Fiberglass one piece shower stalls and fiberglass multi panel units with interlocking seams. One piece units are generally original to the home. As they are often too big to fit through doorways and finished bathrooms. Whereas multi panel units tend to be after market additions. Since most showers have shower doors installed, there are a number of options to consider. If the doors are in good condition, then we advise just masking the door and frame and then we would work around it. (Please note, that depending on the size or shape, this may not be an option.) If the shower enclosure is dated or in bad repair, then we could remove it for you. Or you can have it removed before we arrive to save cost. If you plan to install a new enclosure, then we would recommend waiting a few days to a week, after the refinishing has been completed before the new door is installed.
