SINK

REFINISHING

Bathroom sinks and vanities are another heavily used item which can be refinished. Due to their size and the high traffic use, they are often not considered for refinishing by homeowners. Since a simple sink can be replaced relatively easily, most choose to just replace. However, for those sinks and/or vanities that you don’t want to replace, refinishing can be a effective way to update the look without removing or damaging the sink base or changing the fixture entirely.

Refinishing may be the only option for custom shaped sinks, hard to find antique sinks or ones that are built in or undermounted. If you are going to have a sink refinished, it is usually a requirement that all plumbing fixtures be removed prior to our arrival, then reinstalled after our coatings have cured.
Sinks and vanities can be refinished to cover unsightly damage or to closer match other fixtures. However, since sinks are small and often easy to replace, refinishing may not be the most cost effective solution. Another thing to consider is that sinks tend to get harsher use than bathtubs. Sinks see many chemicals being used in them, items dropped in them, and items moving across the surface which may damage a refinishing coat. This heavy use can damage the refinished surface, so special care is necessary and should be considered with a refinished sink. Please note for this reason in most cases we do not warranty them.
